WORLD ART STUDIES. Conferences and Studies of the Polish Institute of World Art Studies – to główna międzynarodowa seria wydawnicza Polskiego Instytutu Studiów nad Sztuką Świata. Publikowane w niej tomy studiów są częściowo wynikiem międzynarodowych konferencji, uzupełnianych  jednak o  teksty, zamówione u wybranych badaczy.  Proces formowania serii był  odbiciem przemian organizacyjnych środowiska naukowego, w którym Stowarzyszenie Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Toruniu (założone 2000) i Polskie Stowarzyszenie Sztuki Orientu (założone 2006) połączyły się w 2011 roku, tworząc Polski Instytut Studiów nad Sztuką Świata.  W serii Konferencje Polskiego Stowarzyszenia Sztuki Orientu / Conferences of the Polish Society of Oriental Art ukazały się w latach 2009 – 2011 pierwsze 4 tomy studiów po polsku lub angielsku. Dalsze 2 tomy (w odmiennej szacie graficznej) wydał po angielsku w 2011 roku  Polski Instytut Studiów nad Sztuką Świata. Kolejne 2 tomy w 2012  roku opublikowało w obecnej formie wizualnej dawne Stowarzyszenie Sztuki Nowoczesnej.  Tematyczny zakres serii obejmuje obecnie: -  sztukę Azji i Afryki, - sztukę mniejszości narodowych w Europie (Żydów, Ormian, Tatarów), -  współczesną sztukę światową; - historię myśli o sztuce.  Zostanie jednak rozszerzony o: -  sztukę Ameryki Środkowej i Południowej, - zagadnienia relacji międzykulturowych, - ochronę  światowego dziedzictwa kulturowego. Od 2016  nowy tytuł:  WORLD ART STUDIES. Conferences and Studies of the Polish Institute of World Art Studies.

WORLD ART STUDIES. Conferences and Studies of the Polish Institute of World Art Studies is a major international series of publications featuring volumes of studies that follow international conferences; each volume, however, is supplemented with texts commissioned with selected researchers. The process of forming the series reflected the changes within the scientific community - in 2011, the Society of Modern Art in Torun (founded 2000) merged with the Polish Society of Oriental Art (founded 2006), establishing the Polish Institute of World Art Studies (PISnSŚ). The first four volumes of studies in Polish or English were published between 2009 to 2011 in the series Conferences of the Polish Society of Oriental Art. Further two volumes (with a different graphic design) were published in English by the Polish Institute of World Art Studies in 2011. The next two volumes were published in the current visual format by the former Society of Modern Art in 2012. The thematic scope of the series currently includes: - the art of Asia and Africa, - art of national minorities in Europe (Jews, Armenians, Tatars), - contemporary world art, - the history of art history. It will be yet expanded to include: - the art of Central and South America, - issues of intercultural relations, - the protection of world cultural heritage. From 2016  new title:  WORLD ART STUDIES. Conferences and Studies of the Polish Institute of World Art Studies
